125 Armor Regiment


Distinctive Unit Insignia


Description

Overall on a black equilateral triangle, three right hand gauntlets, clockwise yellow, red and blue, grasping a stylized tank tread of silver color.  The insignia is 1 1/16 inches (2.70 cm) in height.

Symbolism

The colors red, blue and yellow are used for Armor.  The yellow and black denote the Armor evolvement from Cavalry, the grasping of the tread represent the unit’s controlled strength, the triangle is an ancient symbol for physical durability and achievement, and the three gauntlets allude to combat readiness, mobility and firepower.

Background

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 11 January 1967.

NOTE:  The Regiment was never authorized a coat of arms.
