Distinctive Unit Insignia

Description

A Silver metal and enamel device 1 5/32 inches (2.94 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Tenné, four beacons Argent the flames Proper fimbriated of the last. Attached below the shield a Silver scroll inscribed "SIGNA VICTORIAE" in Red letters.

Symbolism

Orange and white are for the Signal Corps. The beacons are an ancient symbol of signal service, the four symbolize the organization's campaigns in Europe during World War II.

Background

The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 9 June 1955.
