Description

On a disc as a globe Or grid lines Azure, a scorpion, head to base poised to strike of the last, all within a narrow border Blue.

Attached above the disc, a Yellow scroll edged with a narrow Blue border and inscribed “SAFESIDE” in Blue letters.

Attached below the disc, a Yellow scroll edged with a narrow Blue border and inscribed “822D BASE DEFENSE SQUADRON” in Blue letters.



Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors.  Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations.  Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel.  The globe is representative of the worldwide capability for deployment and mission of the Squadron.  The scorpion’s characteristics allude to the Squadron’s ground oriented, aggressive and accurate defensive posture.
