Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors.  Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations.  Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel.  The eagle’s head references our national symbol to emphasize the unit’s pride and commitment to the nation’s defense.  The stripes suggest the blood shed by those before us and the patriotism and honor to serve our country.  The five lightning bolts represent the various and diverse maintenance specialties.   All elements combined personify the unit’s motto, “QUALITY  INTEGRITY DUTY.”
