Description

On a disc Azure, a triangle Or, fimbriated Gules, overall two swords in saltire points to base suppressed by a late 15th Century helm Argent (Silver Gray), all within a narrow border Black.

Attached above the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed “COURAGE INTEGRITY TRUTH” in Black letters.

Attached below the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed “423D SECURITY FORCES SQ” in Black letters.

Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors.  Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations.  Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel.  The triangle signifies strength and the unit’s ability to coordinate changing needs.  The crossed swords signify justice and military honor.  The knight’s helmet signifies the unit’s mission of providing force protection and security in defense.
