Description
On a disc Azure, a mountain range in base Vert, shaded Sable, overall a Rod of Aesculapius Proper, entwined by a serpent Or, eyed of the third within seven mullets in chief arrayed as the “Big Dipper” constellation and one large North Star all of the fourth; all within a narrow bordure Yellow.
Attached above the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed “CARE ABOVE AND BEYOND” in Yellow letters.
Attached below the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "3RD MED OPS SQ" in Yellow letters.
Symbolism
Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The serpent climbing the staff symbolizes the healing arts of medicine and the staff of life. Ursa Major symbolizes the mission support in the Alaskan Command. The Chugach Mountain Range, which surrounds the 3rd Medical Operations Squadron’s location, is represented by the mountain range. The motto represents the commitment to the highest standards of medical care projected globally.
