Shoulder Sleeve Insignia

Description
A red horizontal lozenge shaped embroidered item with the left and right vertex rounded edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border, displaying a gold Viking’s head wearing a blue helmet with white horns. Attached below the lozenge, a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border inscribed “VIKING” in red, bold letters and “Battalion” in blue, script letters. The overall dimensions are 2 9/64 inches (5.44 cm) in height and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Red, white, and blue are the school colors and are indicative of each cadet’s patriotism, loyalty, and devotion to duty. The iconic “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign, marking the location of the school, inspires this device. The Viking is the school’s mascot and reflects the strength and spirit of the cadets.

Description
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Gules, a chevron reversed Or in chief a Viking’s head with helmed Azure and horned Argent. Attached above the shield, a Gold scroll inscribed “VALLEY VIKINGS” in Blue letters. Attached below the shield, a Gold scroll turned Blue inscribed “WE ARE THE TEAM” in Blue letters.

Symbolism
Red, white, and blue are the schools colors and are indicative of each cadet’s patriotism, loyalty, and devotion to duty. The Viking is the school’s mascot and reflects the strength and spirit of the cadets. The chevron alludes to the letter “V”, for VALLEY HIGH SCHOOL.
