Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A keystone shaped device edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) yellow border, the overall dimensions 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 3/4 inches (6.99 cm) at its widest point consisting of a red center edged top and bottom with a yellow, on which is a yellow mermaid; attached above the center an arced white scroll inscribed "DICKINSON" and attached below the center a horizontal white scroll inscribed "COLLEGE'' all in red letters 5/16 inch (.79 cm) in height.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 2 May 1973.




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold metal and enamel shield-shaped device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall, on a red enamel shield a gold color metal mermaid with arms outstretched atop a small white enamel cupola with five columns visible.

Symbolism
The cupola with mermaid is representative of the Cupola of Old West, the main administrative building of Dickinson College.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 25 April 1960.
