Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The sine wave connecting the two portions of the disc is indicative of the Squadron's role in connecting tactical war fighters with strategic and operations intelligence. The lightning bolt sword depicts the Squadron's use of the electromagnetic spectrum as an offensive or defensive weapon, while the olive branch represents the unit's commitment to maintain the peace. The knight chess piece associates the unit with the intelligence field and also represents the significant forethought required to accomplish the mission. The set of wings highlight the Squadron's close ties to the airborne community with the reliance on airborne assets, and concurrently, the ability to provide direct support to those airborne platforms in the assigned theater of operations. The motto, "To Keep The Morning Calm," represents the Squadron's mission to provide actionable intelligence that can pre-empt potential hostile actions.
