Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
A shield shaped device with an arced scroll attached below the shield, the overall dimensions 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 3 inches (7.62 cm) in width at its widest point; the shield edged with a 1/8 inch (. 32 cm) white border, the background divided horizontally blue above, the lower half divided vertically into two halves, red for dexter and white to sinister. Overall, a white five-pointed star surmounted by the head of a panther, couped at the neck, outlined white and detailed black. On a white scroll edged with a 1/16 inch ( .16 cm) black border, the inscription "PERMIAN" in black letters 1/4 inch (. 64 cm) in height.

Symbolism
The school colors are red, blue and white. The school's mascot is the panther.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was originally authorized 9 October 1981. It was amended to add subdued colors and metric measurements and update the description and symbolism on 29 December 1992. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-289)




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield divided horizontally in halves, the top half of the blue enamel, the bottom half further divided vertically white enamel and red enamel, overall a silver five-pointed star bearing the silver head of a panther garnished of black enamel. Attached below the shield a silver arced scroll inscribed "PERMIAN" in black enamel letters.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 22 December 1981.
