Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The globe on a black background, encompassed by an orange and yellow lightning bolt, as a Möbius strip, suggests the flow of information worldwide. The sword, shield and black chess piece represent the offensive and defensive nature of Air Force intelligence.
