Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The ring of chain represents the strength and protection the unit offers to its country and warfighters. The knight represents the warfighter to whom the unit supplies the tools for battle. The attack position of the knight stresses the readiness to deliver a lethal blow to the enemy using a full arsenal. The missile and bomb represent the two realms of testing that the unit conducts: air to air missiles and air to ground bombs. The Latin motto, "EX SCIENTIA DOMINIUM," translates in English to "FROM KNOWLEDGE POWER."
