Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The yellow generic aircraft swoops skyward with red, green and blue streamers to reflect the unit's affiliation with its parent wing and to reflect the unit's effort to always reach the highest standards of professionalism. The lightning bolt alludes to the Thunderbolt aircraft and the illustrious history of the fighter squadron, which the unit supports.
