Description/Blazon

On a disc per fess Dark Blue (Flag Blue) and Azure (Ultramarine Blue) between a vol Or the first primary feathers barbed, two lightning bolts pilewise Argent, surmounted in base by a terrestrial globe of the second land masses Vert and gridlined White, all within a diminished border Blue.

Attached above the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Blue border and inscribed "505TH OPERATIONS SQ" in Blue letters.

Attached below the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Blue border and inscribed "RIGHT TIME RIGHT PLACE" in Blue letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The globe represents the unit's global nature of command and control. The wings and lightning bolts denote the Air Force heritage and C2 links with two-way flow of communication. The division of the background alludes to the upper and lower atmospheres and are representative of the theaters of spacecraft and aircraft.
