Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a silver gray vertical rectangle arched convexly at top and bottom, displaying 1/2 (1.27 cm) diagonal blue band extending from the upper right to lower left corner of the rectangle and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border. A blue silhouette of a Viking's head erased with helmet, the face white, facing the viewer, its features blue, orange moustache and beard detailed blue, with silver gray helmet, white horns all detailed blue, surmounted on the base of the helmet a white star. Attached above the rectangle a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border inscribed "NORTHEAST" in blue letters. Attached below the rectangle a white scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) blue border inscribed "VIKINGS" in blue letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 2 5/8 inches (6.67 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Royal blue, gray and white are the school colors. The Viking is the school's mascot, which represents strength, courage and the cadet's fierce and winning spirit. Northeast High School is located in the north east corner of East Baton Rouge Parish and it was established in 1981.

A Silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Azure, a Viking's head erased affronté Argent (Silver Gray) detailed and charge on helm with a mullet all of the first. Attached below shield, a Blue scroll inscribed "VIKINGS" in base metal letters.
