Blue and yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The rook represents the military troops and equipment being transferred from one organization to another. The key denotes security, safekeeping and control of materiel management in the "Quartermaster Corps" tradition. The lightning bolt represents the integrating role of contingency operations and the capacity to combine essential logistics elements into a coherent plan supporting the warfighter. The Latin motto, "VICTORIA PER PROCINCTU," translates in English to "VICTORY THROUGH READINESS."
