Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a triangle shaped embroidered device arched convexly at bottom and edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Red border blazoned as follows: Argent, a Jaguar's head detailed Ultramarine Blue between a sword, point to chief, a lamp flamant in dexter base and a helm in sinister base reversed of the second. Angled on either side of the triangle inscription "AUGUSTA" in dexter and "STATE" in sinister all in Yellow letters. Attached below, a White arched scroll edged with a 1/8 inch (.32 cm) Red border inscribed "JAGUAR BATTALION" in Yellow letters. The overall dimensions are 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in height and 3 1/2 inches (8.89 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Red, white and blue are the school colors. The Jaguar is the unit's mascot and represents a determined attitude in the cadet's outlook toward performance and achievement. The sword and helm represent the professional soldier and leader. The lamp denotes scholarly pursuits.

Background
A shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized on 10 April 1978. It was cancelled and a new current design was authorized on 19 March 2010. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10S-138)




Shoulder Loop Insignia


Description/Blazon
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield barry of eleven alternating blue and white surmounted by a white arched diagonal band bendwise between a diagonal gold scepter below a gold lamp enflamed above. Below the shield a five segmented scroll inscribed "VINCIT OMNIA VERITAS" in blue letters.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 31 October 1996.
