On a disc Sable, a bend sinister Argent, overall the head of a cougar couped Or, detailed of the field, armed of the second, eyed and langued Gules, fimbriated of the third, an inner border Azure; all within a narrow Black border.

Attached below the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "552D MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS SQ" in Black letters.


Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The diagonal bar symbolizes the unit's global logistics support operations and the around-the-clock service and support to the flying mission. The cougar represents the speed and strength of the Squadron's dedicated personnel.

The fierceness of the cougar further denotes the technical support the unit provides to the Wing's weapons systems.
