Shoulder Sleeve Insignia


Description/Blazon
On a light blue shield arched edged with a 1/8 inches (.32 cm) Yellow border, a yellow cougar head affronté, with eyes, nose, mouth and whiskers detailed dark blue. Attached above the shield a light blue scroll with a 1/8 inch .32 cm) yellow border inscribed "GOLDSBORO HS" in dark blue letters. The overall dimensions are 3 3/8 inches (8.57 cm) in height by 3 1/8 inches (7.94 cm) in width.

Symbolism
Yellow and dark blue are the school colors. The school's mascot is the cougar. Light blue alludes to affiliation with the Infantry.

Background
The shoulder sleeve insignia was authorized 22 June 1988. (TIOH Drawing Number A-10J-76)

Description/Blazon
A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height consisting of a shield arched wavy at top blazoned: Celeste, a winged torch palewise enflamed Or, surmounted by a wildcat's face Azure, garnished of the second. Attached below the shield a Gold scroll overlapping the base of the shield inscribed "GOLDSBORO" in dark blue letters.

Symbolism
Yellow and dark blue are the school colors. The cougar is the school's mascot. The torch symbolizes enlightenment and knowledge through education and training. The wings signify preparedness and skill in carrying out duties. The light blue color alludes to affiliation with the Infantry.

Background
The shoulder loop insignia was authorized 10 May 1993.
