A Gold color metal and enamel device 1 3/16 inches (3.02 cm) in height overall consisting of a shield blazoned: Tierced in pairle Gules, Sable, and Azure; the first with the Alpha in lower case in base Or, the second bearing the stylized summit of Mt. Attached on either side of the base of the shield is a doubled, stacked scroll with the upper portion the same angle as the shield inscribed with "FROM" "WEST" on the left side and "TO" "EAST" on the right side in Gold letters.
The scarlet, white, and blue shield are our National colors and the colors of the Army Materiel Command which the Battalion proudly serves. The division of the shield is adapted from the AMC insignia. Gold is emblematic of excellence and black alludes to solvency. The globe featuring the Pacific Rim highlights the area of operation of the organization. Massive Mt. Rainier dominates the skyline in the Fort Lewis, Washington area, home base of the Battalion. The Alpha and Omega refer to the contracting process to all classes of supply and services necessary for mission success to support the Warfighter on and off the field of battle.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 20 July 2007.
