A silver color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86 cm) in height, consisting of a silver starburst of eight points issuing to base from behind the lower half of a red trefoil slipped bearing a four-pointed silver star throughout, all surrounded by a circular blue motto scroll folded silver behind the upper leaf of the trefoil and inscribed, "DILIGENCE IN MOTION" in silver.
The trefoil commemorates the former unit's World War II service in Europe. The four points of the star symbolize the campaign credits earned during service in Normandy, Northern France, Rhineland and Central Europe. The starburst represents the functions of the unit. It also suggests the Mississippi River delta and Louisiana, the location of the organization. Red, white (silver) and blue are our National colors.
The distinctive unit insignia was originally authorized for the 348th Personnel and Administration Battalion on 12 January 1987. It was redesignated for the 348th Personnel Group, effective 17 September 1991, with the description and symbolism revised.
