TANK-AUTOMOTIVE AND ARMAMENTS COMMAND
Distinctive Unit Insignia
A gold color metal and enamel device 1 1/8 inches (2.86cm) in height consisting of a gold five-pointed star centered upon a dark blue diamond shape enclosed by two interlaced chevrons each composed of a buff and gold tank tread conjoined with a red and gold auto tire tread upon a dark blue background in base enclosed by a semi-circular red scroll inscribed "COMMITTED TO EXCELLENCE" in gold letters, all superimposed upon two diagonally crossed gold field guns, barrels up, and all surmounting a dark blue demi-disc.
The device combines the crossed cannons from the insignia of the former U.S. Army Armament, Munitions and Chemical Command with the conjoined tank and tire treads from the insignia of the former U.S. Army Tank-Automotive Command to reflect the Tank-Automotive and Armaments Command's heritage.
The distinctive unit insignia was approved on 13 Apr 1995.
