Distinctive Unit Insignia

On a Dark Blue disc edged with Gold rope, a Gold demi-trident superimposing a Celeste Blue silhouette of a vintage Coast Guard cutter and below, surmounting the base of the trident, the Coast Guard crossed anchors and shield in proper colors; at top the designation "MARITIME LAW ENFORCEMENT ACADEMY" in White letters, at base of the disc "UNITED STATES COAST GUARD" in Gold.

The crossed anchors, shield and the colors dark blue and white represent the United States Coast Guard. The vessel recalls the traditions of the service and the work of the Academy. The demi-trident denotes maritime law enforcement and authority and emphasizes the coordination of Coast Guard law enforcement personnel with members of other assisting agencies in the field of security. Gold signifies excellence and commitment to the best in mission accomplishment, white denotes high ideals.
