Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. A nebuly line of partition divides the shield and represents clouds. Pegasus, the mythological winged horse, is shown in an attitude of flight, rising to the sky, deftly and swiftly with a flaming machine gun in each wing to accomplish the mission assigned successfully.
