Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The lightning bolt and key depict the Squadron's use and exploitation of the electromagnetic spectrum, key to intelligence operations and Air Force information dominance. The sword represents the unit's commitment to the defense of the United States. The hawk associates the unit with air power. As a bird of prey, the hawk is ever vigilant, on the hunt and maintains higher ground. The hawk's wings highlight the Squadron's ties to the air and space community with mutual reliance and support to air and space operations. The motto, "SCIENTIA EST POTENTIA," represents the Squadron's essence that "Knowledge is Power."
