Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The three inbound deltas are symbolic of the Squadron's weapon systems with the middle delta representing the Air Launched Cruise Missile and the two outer deltas representing the two distinct types of Minuteman III Reentry Vehicles. Additionally, the three deltas are symbolic of the Squadron's officer, enlisted and civilian workforce who maintain and support the global deterrent mission. The globe represents the domain under the unit's protection as well as the unity of the sister services in protecting the Nation and its interests. The atom surrounded by two red bands symbolizes the nuclear arena in which the Squadron operates, while capturing the unit's vigilant stewardship of the Nation's most powerful military capability. The Latin motto, "AMAT VICTORIA CURAM," translates to "Victory Favors Those Who Take Pains" in English.
