Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The lightning bolt symbolizes the ability to strike anytime, anywhere. The falcon and camera embody the unit's airborne intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance mission. The eye and globe stand for the worldwide nature of the Air Force mission and the persistent nature of America's intelligence capabilities. The motto, "VENATORES ET VINDICES TACITI," is Latin for "Silent Hunters and Defenders" and represents the Squadron's offensive and defensive responsibilities.
