Description/Blazon

Azure, a falcon's head erased Or holding in its beak a drop bomb bendwise nose to base Gules, garnished Sanguine, fimbriated of the second, all within a diminished bordure of the like.

Attached below the shield, a White scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "96TH MEDICAL GROUP" in Blue letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The falcon's head heraldically denotes the organization's bombardment function and also symbolizes the unit's hot pursuit of mission accomplishments. The drop bomb is the color of fire and denotes martial prowess, boldness and hardiness.
