Description/Blazon

On a disc per bend sinister Azure and Vert, the bend sinister as a lightning bolt Or, overall a scroll unfurled to sinister and quill pen bend sinisterwise point to base Argent, detailed Sable, all within a narrow border Yellow.

Attached below the disc, a Yellow scroll edged with a narrow Blue border and inscribed "502D CONTRACTING SQ" in Blue letters.

Attached above the disc, a Yellow scroll edged with a narrow Blue border and inscribed "WHERE EXCELLENCE IS STANDARD" in Blue letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The upper background of the emblem signifies the Air Force as the lead. The lower background represents the taxpayers' money" that the Squadron handles wisely to accomplish the mission within the confines of laws, regulations, and policies. Unit personnel constantly strive for integrity first, service before self, and excellence in all that they do. The lightning bolt represents contracting as a joint operation. The parchment and quill depict the traditional contracting tools used to perform the unit's mission. The details on the quill represent the accuracy of their contracting endeavors.
