Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The cat grasping the aerial camera represents the unit's role in performing worldwide high altitude intelligence, surveillance and reconnaissance imagery. The four lightning bolts represent the type of aircraft used by the Squadron, while their arrangement indicates the Squadron's numerical designation, "13."
