Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The skull symbolizes heritage and consistent, underlying devotion to the mission of finding and defeating an advanced, persistent adversary threat. The upper lightning bolt refers to the Squadron's historical roots in electro-magnetic (EM) warfare and its mission of cyber excellence. The lower lightning bolt refers to the striking power of the unit to penetrate into the Air Force's network to identify vulnerabilities. An irregular shape in the emblem reflects the non-conventional nature of warfare in the cyber domain.
