Description/Blazon

On a disc Azure two swords saltirewise Argent gripped Gold Brown below in chief a mullet of four saltirewise White superimposed by a mullet Or voided at the shading of the field, all within a diminished bordure Yellow.

Attached above the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "55TH AIR REFUELING SQ" in Yellow letters.

Attached below the disc, a Blue scroll edged with a narrow Yellow border and inscribed "MASTERS OF THE ART" in Yellow letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine Blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The two stars symbolize one aircraft refueling another. The two swords allude to the Squadron's mission of extending the striking distance and fighting time of aircraft.
