Description/Blazon

On a disc per bend sinister nebuly Or and Azure, on a mound of earth in base Proper, a winged lion reguardant Proper, cupping in dexter paw the Staff of Aesculapius bendwise sinister of the first, shaded Brown, entwined by a serpent of the second, eyed and langued Sable, all within a narrow border Blue.

Attached above the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Blue border and inscribed "WE SUSTAIN THE EFFORT" in Blue letters.

Attached below the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Blue border and inscribed "31ST MEDICAL SUPPORT SQ" in Blue letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The nebuly partition line in the background represents the unit's ties to the parent wing. The St. Mark's Lion holding the Staff of Aesculapius represents the Squadron's medical support mission. The lion also represents pride and courage exhibited by unit members in accomplishing their mission. The unit motto is "We Sustain the Effort."
