Description/Blazon

On a disc Sable, a lightning flash bend sinister point to dexter base Gules between in base a winged sword point up Silver Gray handled Azure, pommeled and guarded Or, surmounted at the tip by a scroll of the last, in chief a parachute of the third, all within a narrow border Black.

Attached above the disc, a Yellow scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "COURAGE IN ADVERSITY" in Black letters.

Attached below the disc, a Yellow scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "786TH SECURITY FORCES SQ" in Black letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The black background indicates the unit's ability to perform its mission under any and all situations. The parachute is symbolic of the type of rapid deployment mission entrusted to the unit. The winged sword and scroll signify force protection through knowledge, experience and honor.
