Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The Griffin represents air power and the heart and strength of the unit in its foundation of air power. The globe eclipsed symbolizes the 24-hour operations schedule of the unit. The lightning bolt depicts command and control when the unit is fixed and deployed. The motto, "AUT VIAM INVENIEM AUT FACIAM," translates in English to "I WILL EITHER FIND A WAY OR MAKE ONE."
