Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. A full moon signifies the unit's commitment and mastery of night environment skills once feared by early warriors, now a medium of choice. The two stars to left reflect the unit's parent commands; the single star on the right, the unified war fighting command for which the unit must remain eternally prepared to provide lighting response. The Phoenix of Greek and Egyptian mythology symbolizes immortality and life after death. The dagger amplifies the Air Force Special Operations Command and its commitment to provide selfless service "anytime...anywhere" with old world values of honor, dedication and chivalry.
