Description/Blazon

On a disc Azure, in chief a cross couped Gules, bearing the stylized image of a man Argent, supported between the elevated and displayed wings of a hawk stooping affronté in base Proper, all within a narrow border Black.

Attached above the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Black border bearing the inscription "710 MDOS" in Black letters.

Attached below the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Black border bearing the inscription "LEADING THE WAY" in Black letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine Blue and Air Force Yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The hawk is the mascot of the United States Air Force Academy. The stylized figure represents the cadet population. The red cross symbolizes the medical care profession.
