Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The eagle with the lantern and lightning bolt represents the US Airborne Warning and Control System (AWACS) E-3 Sentry Aircraft Weapons System of which the unit is responsible for managing. The eagle itself symbolizes acute vision and strength. The lantern represents the first command and control system used as a signaling device during the Revolutionary War. The lightning bolt denotes the power of electricity and electronics. The globe with the bend sinister represents the worldwide round-the-clock mission of the airborne command and control systems. The stars signify the bases from which AWACS operates, the larger star being the air operating base and the two smaller stars being satellite bases. The unit's Latin motto, "VIDERE SCIRE DOMINARI," translated is "TO SEE, TO KNOW, TO DOMINATE."
