Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The demi-sun symbolizes the huge span of control, from sunrise to sunset, of the unit's area of operations. The stars of the constellation "Canis Major," to include the "Dog Star" Sirus, guide the Group with its associate units in navigation across the Pacific. Overall four rays of light show the unit's affiliation with the 4th Air Force and illustrate the unit's optimism concerning mission accomplishment.
