Description/Blazon

On a disc Azure, a vol Argent surmounted by a mullet Or, in chief two lightning bolts enarched to sinister pilewise Gules, all within a diminished border Sable.

Attached above the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "27TH COMMUNICATIONS SQUADRON" in Black letters.

Attached below the disc a White scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed
"COMMUNICATORS OF CHOICE" in Black letters.



Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The star represents the Squadron's various communications missions. The lightning bolts reflect the speed of response and expertise of the unit when called to complete its assigned duties. The wings symbolize the unit's ability to perform its expeditionary communications missions anywhere and at any time.
