Description/Blazon

On a disc Azure, in chief an arc of seven mullets Or, a bird of prey erased at the neck to dexter Gris, highlighted Smoke, detailed Sable, eyed Argent, beak Or, in base a pair of swords in saltire points up of the third, detailed of the fifth, all within a narrow border black.

Attached above the disc, a Yellow scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "POWER PRECISION SPEED" in Black letters.

Attached below the disc, a Yellow scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "580TH SOFTWARE MAINTENANCE SQ" in Black letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The constellation of stars represents the wide variety of Operational Flight Programs supported by the Squadron. The bird of prey is a symbol of strength, courage and dominance of the air. The swords symbolize force, combat and military intervention.
