Description/Blazon

On a disc Or, a pentagon bendwise Gules and Azure fimbriated of the last bearing to dexter a Staff of Aesculapius Argent and of the third and to sinister a tooth White detailed Silver Gray, all within a narrow border Blue.

Attached above the disc, a Yellow scroll edged with a narrow Blue border inscribed "PROTECTING THE BITING FORCE" in Blue letters.

Attached below the disc, a Yellow scroll edged with a narrow Blue border inscribed "579TH DENTAL SQUADRON" in Blue letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The pentagon shape represents the five categories of customers the Squadron supports: Active Duty, Reserve, National Guard, Dependents and Retirees. The Staff of Aesculapius is the symbol for medicine. The tooth alludes to the dental career field.
