Description/Blazon

On a disc Or, a pile reversed Celeste, surmounted by a storm cloud Proper, emitting to base palewise a lightning bolt Argent fimbriated Azure, charged with a label of three points Gules, and between two wings conjoined of the third, all within a narrow border of the same.

Attached below the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Blue border and inscribed "509TH FORCE SUPPORT SQ" in Blue letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The reversed label and wings signify the unit's heritage under the 509th Bomb Wing and the sustainment, development and readiness of the unit to provide community services. The pile reversed represents the enabling global strike capabilities by providing unrivaled support. The thunderstorm and lightning bolt pointing down signifies the ability to act with pinpoint accuracy. The wings represent the unit's heritage of flight services.
