Description/Blazon

On a disc Azure, issuant from base a demi-globe Argent (Silver Gray) gridlined Sable surmounted by a winged sword point to chief, wings of the second, sword, quillion and pommel Or, grip of the first bearing a compass rose. Sword complexed with a serpent Sanguine eyed of the third, all within a narrow border Black.

Attached above the disc, a Gray scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "UT ALI VIVANT" in Black letters.

Attached below the disc, a Gray scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "308TH RESCUE SQUADRON" in Black letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The serpent is the symbol for medicine. The globe represents the worldwide deployment of the unit. The winged sword and compass rose symbolize the combat capability of the unit. The motto,"UT ALI VIVANT," is Latin for "THAT OTHERS LIVE."
