Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The crossed lightning bolts yielded as swords represent the destructive power of electronic information as a weapon. The atomic symbol denotes the decisive blow communication information enables the warfighter to deliver. The five stars represent the five dimensions of communication: land, sea, air, space and cyber space.
