Description/Blazon

On a disc Azure, a torteau in dexter base rayed of eight throughout Gules, the rays highlighted on the leading edge clock-wise by a ray Or, overall a Pegasus enraged Argent, all within a narrow border Sable.

Attached above the disc, a Yellow scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "EVER SOARING" in Black letters.

Attached below the disc, a Yellow scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "97TH SERVICES SQUADRON" in Black letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The sunburst suggests the expanding and broadening of the service's career field. The Pegasus embodies air power and its global reach, plus the pride, endurance, responsiveness and reliability exhibited by the unit personnel.
