Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. The globe describes the worldwide mission, with the swoosh emitting from the globe, signifying the swiftness that technology gives to global communications. The figure of Mercury is a symbol of the speed and direction of modern communications.
