Description/Blazon

On a disc parted per fess Azure and Vert, within an inner border Gules, above a Scorpion affronté poised to strike Sable, detailed Argent, eyed of the third, its dexter claw descending to inner border, two rifles crossed in saltire at the top of their stocks in chief their butts descending to base of the fourth, between four lightning bolts, two parallel sinister and two parallel bend sinister Or, all within a narrow border Black.

Attached above the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "OFFICIUM ANTE OMNIA" in Black letters.

Attached below the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Black border and inscribed "99TH SECURITY FORCES SQUADRON" in Black letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The divided background alludes to the unit's capability to fight in any theater throughout the world. The inner border symbolizes the blood of wounded defenders. The crossed rifles represent the primary tools of the defenders' mission. The lightning bolts signify the instant response speed and impact required of the unit. The scorpion is the death stalker who protects its territory with vigilance and lightning speed.
