Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The right unsheathed sword depicts the allied forces, especially the unit's Battlefield Airmen, status and rapid ability to project power in support of the warfighter. The left unsheathed sword represents unit support of security for the combined efforts of the United States and Coalition forces as they bring peace and stability to the region. The four stars signify the four original AES squadron. The stars underscore the unit supporting U.S. military joint services in today's combat environment. The deltoid symbolizes both the Air Force dominance of air and space and underscores the Joint Expeditionary Tasked (JET) Airmen and Individual Augmentee (IA) Airmen. The two sections of the deltoid refer to the two missions to project both the operational and tactical actions of the supported force.
