Description/Blazon

On a disc Azure, a side dexter nebuly Azure bearing a cross couped and removed to sinister Gules, overall three lightning flashes conjoined and radiating from dexter toward sinister flank, Or. In dexter chief five mullets of the field arrayed in a pentagonal formation, all within a narrow bordure Gray.

Attached above the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Gray border and inscribed "86TH MED SUPPORT SQ" in Gray letters.

Attached below the disc, a White scroll edged with a narrow Gray border and inscribed "WHATEVER IT TAKES" in Gray letters.


Symbolism

Ultramarine blue and Air Force yellow are the Air Force colors. Blue alludes to the sky, the primary theater of Air Force operations. Yellow refers to the sun and the excellence required of Air Force personnel. The red cross represents the medical profession. The lightning flashes symbolize the unit's core values of integrity, service and excellence. The five stars represent the "Five Star" service provided by the unit to its customers.
